Upon graduating from law school at 25 years old, I still wasn’t sure what I wanted to do with my life.  However, through a lot of hard work and a bit of good luck, I landed a job as a lawyer at one of San Diego’s premier personal injury law firms.

For two years, I learned from some of San Diego’s best litigators before moving to an international firm that did class action cases.  The move paid me more money but lacked fulfillment.  I was stuck in a role where I did not feel valued or appreciated.  I was deeply unhappy and began to seriously question whether I wanted to continue being a lawyer.

After six years of deep discontent at the class action firm, I decided to quit being a lawyer and become a dream chaser.  I founded a startup and failed, then wrote a book I never published.  I chased two dreams and failed at both of them.

The silver lining was that I started publishing my writing online, which got the attention of one of the partners I worked with years before.  He was starting his own firm and asked me to write his website.  He said I was perfect for the job because I was ‘’trained as a lawyer, but wrote like a normal person.’’
